Over the course of my 30 years in mental health and crisis response, I have had a wide variety of supervisors with diverse styles. Those experiences continue to inform and shape my work. I have provided clinical supervision to new clinicians and coached seasoned professionals. As both a Licensed Professional Counselor and Supervisor, I have kept two tenets in the forefront of that work: First - Never lose sight of the privilege it is to walk alongside someone during their journey to understanding and wellbeing. And Second - Listening rightly done, is the greatest gift we can give another person (~Carl Rogers).

My approach to supervision provides an environment of growth for a counselor to honestly evaluate their work performance and counseling skills, build a professional identity, and explore ethics, skills, and best practices. Supervision will be a mixture of case review, collaborative problem solving and support. This process may include assessing your objectivity and professional boundaries with clients, exploring your personal awareness, the importance of establishing and maintaining trust of clients, and walking the path with your clients to meet the client where they are.
