Whether you are seeking accommodations in educational settings or exploring options for emotional support animals, I am here to help you identify the most appropriate and reasonable supports for your circumstances. My experience working in collegiate and K12 educational systems, serving as a workplace ADA grievance coordinator, and my personal experience working through these systems add to my ability to guide you through the process. The goal is to provide a well-researched, evidence-based document that empowers individuals to succeed academically and emotionally, while ensuring compliance with the frameworks of IEP, 504, ADA, and ESA provisions. We complete this process through several virtual or on-line sessions.
Initial Evaluation & Assessment
First, we will meet for a Initial Evaluation and Assessment session. This may also include a parent if the you (the client) is under 18 years old. set up a start with a where we meet with the client online. During this session, we talk about their needs and mental health history,s and we assess whether an ESA is a good fit. We also ask questions to better understand how the client feels around animals and how an ESA might help them.
Follow-up Session geared to Your Support Needs.
Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and 504 Plans:
Support is focused on in identifying the accommodations you need (the client) student needs to level the playing field between you and your peers. Our process for well informed support includes gathering relevant data, such as previous assessments, academic performance, and behavior observations, to form a clear picture of your needs. Information may also be gathered through conversations with interviews with educational professionals, parents, and you (the client) to ensure a holistic understanding of their individual challenges.
Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Support:
Guidance is provided on securing ADA accommodations in higher education environments or the workplace to ensure equal access and opportunity. Using the data gathered, personalized recommendation letters are created, backed by data gathered, to ensure compliance with ADA standards, helping institutions understand and meet your needs.
Emotional Support Animals (ESA):
Based on the Initial Evaluation and data gathered, we will explore where an ESA is a good fit. Specific assessment questions center on better understanding how you feel around animals and how an ESA might help you. A follow-up virtual session will also be needed to observe the client’s interaction with their animal; This helps us understand how the animal supports the client’s emotional well-being. If the client doesn’t have an animal yet, we discuss what kind of animal might be best for them. The goal of the assessment is to ensure that an ESA will offer meaningful emotional support, leading to the issuance of an official “ESA Recommendation Letter” for housing or travel accommodations.
I am dedicated to helping you achieve your full potential by advocating for the right accommodations and supports, tailored to your unique needs.
